The 3-step routine for frizz-free hair

Frizz isn't a matter of "unruly hair": it's almost always a matter of hydration. When the hair fibre is dry it pulls moisture from the air and the cuticle lifts — that is what you see as frizz. A simple 3-step routine, in order, keeps it under control.
Step 1 — Wash
Use a sulphate-free shampoo and conditioner (sulphates dry out the fibre). Apply shampoo to the scalp only — rinsing already cleans the lengths without stripping their moisture. Conditioner goes mid-lengths to ends, left on for 2-3 minutes.
Step 2 — Treat
Once or twice a week, swap the conditioner for a nourishing mask. If the frizz is stubborn, a hair botox every 4-6 weeks refills the fibre deep down and tackles the cause rather than the symptom.
Step 3 — Finish
On damp hair, apply an anti-frizz cream from mid-lengths to ends (never at the roots, so it doesn't go flat). Dry with a microfibre towel without rubbing and, if you blow-dry, use a diffuser or keep some distance, always with heat protectant.
The step almost nobody takes
Switch your pillowcase for satin or silk. Cotton absorbs moisture and creates friction while you sleep — two direct causes of frizz that have nothing to do with any product you use during the day.
